beer mats2

I prefer these beer mats to the others but these dont really reflect fusions as much.

Developed beer mats

I like how these have turned out but i might want to try the idea without the mona lisa behind.

Beer mats







i decided to develop the idea on to beer mats. i felt that the Jimmy Hendrix image we had created was quite strong so i decided to continue with the idea and develop it onto the beer mats. 

After deciding on the style to use Nick suggested trying it across 4 beer mats that would sort of fit together. I think it works better than a single beer mat.

Framing and mounting

After further development we decided that the images could possibly be framed and i think that they look better framed as i feel it allows the painting to sit better on the page.

Testing the colour




I wanted to see if the image could be adjusted to suit the Beck's green but i feel it distorts the image too much and feel that you don't really recognize the mona lisa as much and is almost lost.

Further developed


we decided to continue with this idea and after nick had mocked it up digitally we decided that i developed the design whilst he focused on adjusting the style of the logo to fit more with the design of the image. He also began to go through possible combinations of artist and musician.

Idea development


Together we tried to see how the ideas would look developed. we both quickly produced some pieces to see which idea worked the strongest as there was two that we felt were the strongest
I like this idea but we felt it doesn't quite communicate the fusion between art and music and felt that the other idea was stronger and felt it would have more of an impact. I also feel that the idea although working on the concept of "different by choice" doesn't really reflect the drink nor the fusions events that occur an is not very informative of the events involve.
